Introduction

The CellPay Services Application Programming Interface (API) provides a secure and standardized interface that enables external stakeholders to integrate services offered by CellPay directly into their systems. CellPay is a Payment Service Provider (PSP) licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and operates a regulated digital payment infrastructure supporting financial and utility-based services across Nepal.

Through the Services API, partner platforms including web applications, mobile applications, and enterprise systems can consume CellPay-enabled services within their own environments. The API allows partners to initiate and process transactions using CellPay’s backend infrastructure while ensuring compliance, security, and transactional integrity. This documentation presents the technical foundation required to establish reliable system-to-system communication with CellPay.

Intended Audience

This document is intended for technical and operational stakeholders involved in integrating CellPay services into external platforms. The primary audience includes software developers, system architects, integration engineers, and technical leads responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining API-based integrations. It may also be referenced by product managers, business analysts, and operations teams to understand service capabilities, transaction flows, and integration constraints.

Readers of this document are expected to have working knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON-based communication, and basic security concepts such as authentication and token management.

Scope

The scope of this documentation is limited to the technical integration of services exposed through the CellPay Services API. It covers supported service workflows, API endpoints, request and response structures, authentication mechanisms, validation rules, error handling, and transaction lifecycle behavior as implemented by CellPay.

This document does not define or prescribe internal system architecture, user interface design, or business logic on the partner’s side. It also excludes commercial terms, settlement agreements, and contractual obligations, which are governed separately through formal agreements with CellPay.

Purpose of the Document

The purpose of this document is to provide a comprehensive and authoritative reference for integrating CellPay services into external systems. It is designed to guide partners through the planning, development, testing, and implementation phases of integration by clearly defining technical requirements and operational expectations.

By consolidating all relevant API specifications and procedural guidelines in a single reference, this document aims to reduce integration effort, minimize implementation errors, and ensure consistent usage of CellPay services across partner platforms. It also serves as a baseline reference for ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and future enhancements to the integration.
